The Hp Office jet pro 8025 and 6978 are from the same series but the 8025 is quite new in many aspects. The Hp Office jet Pro 8025 yields more pages, has a low cost per print and better connectivity. Whereas the Hp Officejet Pro 6978 has the duplex scanning to scan documents automatically and it has the external support which Hp Officejet Pro 8025 lacks. The OCR built in technology is also a part of the software which helps to run the process of both the printers smoothly with due quality.

Design and build quality

The Hp office jet pro 8025 has a nice build quality and design. The plastic body feels smooth and the paper jams can easily be reached. The scanner lid is also big and the hinge much better. It has a 2.7-inch touch screen touch display along with touch buttons which are absolutely fine and responsive enough and it can work with the assistance of Alexa.

On the other hand , the Hp Officejet Pro 6978 comes with a great touchscreen display of 2.6 inch. The navigating menus are easy to operate and the audible feedback is awesome. The screen has good visibility and also one can easily access the sheet rollers and change the cartridges whenever needed. All-over the body feels super smooth and handy. 

Printing quality and speed

In the case of printing speed and quality both the printers are very much well-performed gadgets here. The Hp office jet pro 8025 has decent printing quality with vibrant colors with great color accuracy. Although the shadowy areas are not that well defined and some blue hues are also there so professionals may not find this palatable. It has a printing speed of 20ppm (black) and 10ppm (color).

The Hp Officejet Pro 6978 has a decent printing quality  along with nice colors. The printer produces natural colors and the color gamut is mediocre. Though the black have some kind of reddish tinge and the green are not much deeper as they should be. Its printing speed is almost the same as the other one. It prints with a speed of 20ppm (black) and 11ppm(color). 

Scanning and copying

With the Hp office jet pro all-in-one printers one can get great scanning and copying features with moderate speed. The HP office jet pro 8025 has a flatbed scanner and Auto document feeder which makes the scanning experience smooth.

The lid can be hinged to scan thick documents but it can’t perform auto duplex scanning. It has a default scan resolution of 300 DPI but can use the flatbed scanner up to 1200 DPI with fine detailing. It can scan up to 4ppm with 35 page ADF capacity.

The Hp Officejet Pro 6978 has superb scanning and copying features. It comes with both a flatbed scanner and ADF to process multiple works in one attempt. The scanner lid can hinge much to scan thicker items and the duplex scanning facility helps to scan double sided documents faster.

The flatbed scanner has good scanning speed along with a 35 sheet ADF which scans with a speed of 4ppm (black and color). The max resolution and color depths are quite well defined and have good copying speed too.

Printing costs and page yields

Both the printers have an affordable cost per print with moderate page yields. The Hp office jet pro 8025 has bad black page yields but the cartridge replacements are cheap. Comparatively the color page yields are good but cartridges are expensive.

It yields 256 pages (black) and 233 pages (color) estimated. One can sign to the Hp ink subscription which leads you to print hassle-free. The cost per print is 0.74 US $ per print (black) and 0.150 US $ per print (color).

On the other hand, the Hp Officejet Pro 6978 has amazing printing costs and page yields. Though the cartridges are a bit expensive, they yield a moderate number of pages.  It has three cartridges which can yield upto 168 black pages and 212 color pages.

Though using the High yield cartridges can make the page yields better. It costs a bit higher than the Hp Officejet Pro 8025 i.e. 0.125 US $ per page ( black) and 0.193 US $ per page ( color).

Connectivity features

Both the all-in-one printers perform pretty well in the matter of connectivity. Both the Hp office jet pro 8025 and 6978 come with Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi direct, and additionally, the Hp office jet pro-8025 supports Bluetooth only for setup purposes and the Hp Officejet Pro 6978 supports External support which the other lacks.

Both of them are fully compatible with the Hp smart app from which one can easily manage scanning, printing, and managing ink subscriptions. On the other hand, one can use the Apple AirPrint and Morphia to print the documents seamlessly. 

Conclusion

The two All-in-one Hp office jet pro printers are compact in their performance and build quality. Both of the printers come with many useful features along with superb connectivity which makes them extremely user friendly.

The Hp Office jet pro 8025 yields much more number of pages with a lower cost per print but the Hp Office jet pro can’t. Again, the Hp Officejet Pro 6978 has external support and duplex scanning.
